In Depth Psychological Therapy

Capture2The Integrative therapy of depth psychology was born in Germany between 1971 and 1997 and remained in a process of continuous development since then, thanks to the theoretical contribution of students and colleagues and practical application in patients. This therapy was developed and structured by Professor Werner J. Meinhold.

In our daily life we are in hypnosis, even unknowingly. When we engage in an affair, an addiction, a phobia, when we are in conflict with someone, when we cannot control our emotions, psychological or emotional dependence etc.

Most of these behaviors are unconscious and they cannot be changed through logic.

The integrative therapy of depth psychology strengthens SELF with the wakefulness of repetitive deficit patterns. The Hypno-Integrative Therapy of depth psychology (THIPP) is a new holistic therapeutic approach but at the same time highly specific, connecting human, social and natural sciences with depth psychology, gestalt consciousness or the form, hypnotic awareness -definition of Professor Meinhold.

Recognizing our participation in all aspects of life, gives us the freedom to modify it. This is what we call self-responsibility or responsibilities of life, allowing us to heal our relationship with us, the world and with its members.

The principles of this therapy can be applied in all areas of daily life and used as therapy offering real help for all kinds of disturbances and diseases. It helps each individual by strengthening the self in this world so he can express his true nature.

If the patient accepts that he has a freedom to express, then everything that he could not express healthily in the past, because he did not obey the learnt rules and went against what he considers correct, then he should have expressed it in the form of any emotional or physical imbalance because there is no such thing as “unexpressed sentiment or emotion.”

Any suppression of thought or feeling that goes against the self appears as a disturbance or disease. Understanding that this imbalance is an expression of my own self which did not find another exit door, gives me further understanding to accept and integrate and not to eliminate or change it.

It is important to remember that everything exists in a perfect balance and absolute communication. Thus it results interesting that every hour of therapy bring changes not only in patient but also his environment and people related to him.

This therapy does not focus on a symptom or situation but the person as such, a person with the reality of now and here and in that the past stimulus have its effects, hence speaking of a therapy which dehypnotizes and allow us to act more freely.

To understand it better I will use a simple example:

Imagine a boss comes and tells his secretary “You have to improve spelling”; she turns pale, starts shaking and burst into tears and leaving the boss perplexed and even she herself cannot understand her overreaction.

What happened? The subconscious of the secretary had recorded these words when she studied in her childhood and her mother exerted a lot of pressure and probably those moments were surrounded by anger and fear. So that was neither her boss and nor his words but living again a difficult situation of the past.

This is what Meinhold calls in his own definition “Hypnosis.”

With this example we can see how each person is a world and being that each therapy itself is a world too. It allows us to recognize that there are situations that are not good or bad but they simply are.

This therapy has the advantage of applying to the vision of the world that each patient has. It is free of ideologies and religious doctrines and considers the spiritual dimension of every being. This is another reason why integration, if we realize that any symptoms or illness serves to learn same as any other situation no matter how difficult it is.

Therefore, the patient should recognize the responsibility of everything connected with it and accept the changes that may occur in this way including an internal growth and knowing himself on a deeper level.

We know that the balance between spirit, mind and body makes harmony and health. With the individual work of depth psychology in hypnosis we can recognize real feelings and attitudes hiding beneath disease, beneath our “accidents” and beneath our surroundings.

Hence we see the emergence of a symptom or a physical or a mental condition is an expression of the psychic and spiritual energies, the same ones which are behind all creation.

This is something that cannot be obtained without hypnosis and to be able to access to the contents of the subconscious is thanks to this technique.

We are not talking about Somnambulistic hypnosis but a Conscious Hypnosis whereby the same person himself can find his own answers and he is able to communicate to the two cerebral hemispheres and be in contact with his whole body, mind and spirit, with the personal, social and universal consciousness, transcend time and even find the karmic connections.

All this can only occur within a context of unconditional love and acceptance that must go beyond the word as it always in the telepathic or direct communication.

Our basic security of existence depends on the love and acceptance we could feel in the mother’s womb. Knowing that this is the starting point for a healthy development we understand that this condition is also the base of our therapy.

If you do not give the unconditional acceptance to the patient which he has rejected something of himself and therefore he does not express it in a healthy way and he is forced to maintain this ‘No Expression” then that will only deepen his difficulties. This would be far from the goal of therapy that the patient finds his self-acceptance and with that his existential security and thus he will not need substitutes which gives him his external confirmation.
